Our Shared stories of Buzz.

  • The W Cafe
Remembering this from the W Cafe in Gunnison today. Seville dare dago; tousin busses enaro; nojo demstrux; summit cousin; summit dux. All those mornings getting pancakes. Buzz and I went there a few times really early in the morning before we went hunting, and I always wished we would just stay and eat more syrupy goodies, rather than spend the day freezing and shooting trees.
  • Memorial Services
Lloyd “Buzz” Buswell passed away on January 8th, 2020 due to advanced kidney disease. Due to the remoteness of our location and often treacherous mountain pass conditions at this time of year, we will be holding funeral services in two stages. 1) Memorial service and gathering on Friday, January 24th at the Omak Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Omak, Washington, from 2 to 4 PM. 2) Graveside service for internment of his ashes at 11 AM on Saturday May 23rd (Memorial Day weekend) in Snohomish, Washington (near Seattle), followed by a “Gathering, Eating and Storytelling” session nearby. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to consider a gift to the Lloyd Buswell Memorial Fund for Education at Western Colorado University, Gunnison. The Lloyd Buswell Memorial Fund for Education has been established by Western Colorado University Foundation to celebrate Lloyd’s legacy as an educator and dedication to the arts. If you would like to make a gift in Lloyd’s memory, please send a check payable to: Western Colorado University Foundation (write “Buswell Memorial” on the memo line) 909 E. Escalate Drive Gunnison, CO 81231 Or, to give securely online, go to: WesternUp.org (and simply type “Buswell Memorial” in the comments box). 100% of your gift will be used to support Western students who share Lloyd’s passion for education and the arts. Western Colorado University Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization (Tax ID# 84-0709935), and gifts to it are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
